A phospholipid that does double duty
Lecithin belongs to the same family of molecules that make up cell membranes, which explains its affinity for skin. As an emulsifier it binds oil and water. As a conditioning agent it softens the surface. And because it forms liposome-like structures, formulators also use it to carry other ingredients more evenly through a product.

Is lecithin suitable for oily or breakout-prone skin?
