While I have heard about how great the SkinCeuticals Vit. C serum is, I dont think I have read any reviews about the smell. No, there is no perfumed scent of any kind in there. To me, it smells like maybe I'm massaging ham or bacon-scented something into my face. So, not a fan. I cant attest to how it works because I dont want to be rubbing that odor anywhere near my nose.

As an 86-year-old redhead with a fair complexion, I've had ample opportunity to test out different products. This is the prime reason no one believes I'm anywhere near my age.

Great product but pricey. As someone who's tried multiple vitamin C serums, this is the one I keep coming back to. Vit C in ascorbic acid form is unstable, so adding in vitamin E helps to stabilize it and last longer. The only setback is the price. You only get a small amount for a high price, so if you use it daily under sunscreen like I do, you'll run out quickly. It is worth the price though because no other company has been able to match their unique, blended formula!

I'm not sure why this product seems like the best vitamin C on the market. I have tried quite a few, and something about the texture and thickness of it seems like a much higher quality product. My skin feels great using this product and has more of a glow when I am using it. I know my skin is in good hands. Using this product every day makes me feel protected against free radicals and sun damage.

After 2 weeks, I would say that my skin is definitely smoother and more glowy, but since I did not have a lot of dark spots to start with, I am not sure about the efficacy on hyperpigmentation. The consistency is thin and the smell is typical for any vitamin C product. It is a little sticky when first applied but that feeling would go away after 20 minutes. Absorption is fast and does not irritate my skin or cause acne. Overall, a pretty nice vitamin C serum but I need to use it a bit longer to see the full effects.

Out of every product I have used there is something magical about this product. Dupes will not do, and this brand, this product is worth every penny. I highly respect the formulation of this product, especially that it uses L-ascorbic acid, which I believe is the purest form of Vitamin C. My issue is the packaging. I've read that the amber bottle with a dropper doesn't keep the formula stable long enough to use the full bottle. Glow-Up I have textured, fine lines, very sensitive, eczema, acne-prone, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, dark skin African American. I had ordered a different beauty product and received a sample of the C E Ferulic and didnt know about it and didnt use it for a minute because of the smell. I decided one day to try it and after a few weeks noticed a huge difference in the firmness, smoothness, more even skin tone, and glow of my skin. And after a month others noticed. When I finally ran out and went to purchase some more, I was taken aback by the price so didnt purchase it for a year. I tried a multitude of other products to get the same effect to no avail. I finally decided Im more than worth the price and invested in myself and just purchased and received my bottle. I am excited to continue using it and see more improvements.

This Skinceuticals serum has no scent at all (so good), the texture is quite light and it absorbs into the skin straight away. It does provide a great level of hydration. While I didnt notice a huge difference in my skin, I can see that it looks more bright and fresh after using this serum. It contains high-quality ingredients and its formula makes it quite efficient. It is a beautiful product.

Ever since I tried this product I have included CE Ferulic in my morning routine. As I got older I noticed that my skin had developed an almost ashen tone and was lackluster no matter what serum and moisturizer I used. That changed from the first application. The fact that CE Ferulic provides protection from environmental challenges (paired with SPF cream of course) is also very important. Although I have somewhat sensitive skin I have not had a problem with this serum. A must in my morning routine.

This serum has helped repair my damaged moisture barrier without any burning or stinging. It absorbs quickly and leaves my sore sensitive skin feeling so hydrated and refreshed with no tacky or greasy residue! I'm never going to be without this. I absolutely love the simple limited ingredients, as this makes it suitable for even the most compromised, sensitive skin types.

Not great for sensitive/acne prone skin Let me start by first saying I did lots of research before purchasing this product! I felt the benefits seemed to outweigh the drawbacks. Unfortunately, that wasnt the case for me. I could definitely see how this product may work well on already clear skin, but it wasnt great for my sensitive skin. Its been months and I still cant build up a tolerance to use it daily without having some sort of peeling or irritation. I do have acne-prone skin, and when I felt a breakout coming and used this product, it definitely enhanced the breakout. Finally, it has a very irony smell (truly like fistfuls of pennies) and it lingers all day which I cant stand. For those 3 reasons, (plus given the high price point) I had to give it 2 stars. Likely wouldnt recommend this product to others with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

So far this Vitamin C serum is my favorite! It works well with other skincare products in the mornings and I think brightened my skin the most! I am still on the hunt because this one is so expensive! That is the only downside on this brand's CE Ferulic serum :( The expense. I did keep this vitamin C in the fridge because my dermatologist warned me it oxidizes quickly. Kept it in my fridge and used daily. It does smell a little initially, but goes away quickly and totally worth it for the results! Unless I can find a less expensive Vitamin C serum that works as well, I will probably buy it again!

I am in my 30s and must admit I have never had a skincare routine. I never wanted to wake up in time to do it and I am too tired at night to consider it. I cant say if it has helped with fine lines and wrinkles as I really did not have many to start with. But it has definitely helped with the overall texture and appearance of my skin.

Im 54 years old and have tried several different vitamin C serums from drug store brands, popular skincare lines, to medical-grade serums and I always return to Skinceuticals. Having mature, postmenopausal skin, I appreciate the extra hydration this serum provides and the "glow" it gives my skin! It isnt greasy or sticky feeling and absorbs really well. I also really appreciate that Skinceuticals products have very little to no fragrance; I absolutely cannot use skincare that is heavy with perfumes/fragrance as it can trigger a migraine and/or irritate my skin. I have been using this serum for many years and will continue doing so. Yes, the price is a bit steep, but if used as directed it lasts a long time and is worth every penny.

I have bought countless times I began using C E Ferulic at the suggestion of my dermatologists office over 10 years ago, and the results show. I apply in the morning before moisturizer, including neck and decolletage, patting in gently until mostly absorbed. Moisturizer absorbs right away, but then again I have mature skin. I accidentally came across SkinCeutical products in my early twenties. I definitely was not having skin issues, but for some reason I thought I was getting wrinkles at the time. At the time I was introduced to their Phloretin CF. I used it on and off throughout the years, always noticing a difference. I have now switched to the C E Ferulic. With consistent use, I have seen a huge change in my skin. Before it was dull and I truly looked older than I was at 44. I am 46 now and my skin is glowing and I definitely see a reduction in wrinkles around my eyes and forehead.

I loved how moisturizing it felt on my face. I loved the consistency. Did not dry my face out even after I waited 20 mins before applying my moisturizer. I love that it goes well with my sunscreen without feeling heavy or peeling. This is the best vit-C serum I have used so far. The only con is the color. It looked brown like it had oxidized. Not sure if that is how it is supposed to look. I will definitely be buying more.

Super Combination While I have been using Skinceuticals CE Ferulic in the morning for years, but switching to Silymarin during the hot, humid months in Southern CA, I was anxious to try their new Cell Cycle Catalyst Skin Surface Renewal Serum for my combination skin. Used alone was too drying for my skin, so I started mixing the two together and I am definitely seeing a positive difference in a way that I did not expect. Because I use a 10% magnification mirror, I am able to see changes in my skin that are not always easy to discern during the early stages of using a new product. While I still enjoy good skin in my 70s, I was amazed to see that my 4 or 5 milia were starting to disappear and I was feeling a tightening effect that I normally only experience at night. As a result, I am thrilled with the improvements in my skin.

Aside from the initial smell, I like how the vitamin C protects my skin and adds a glowy look while not feeling oily. For reference, I typically have normal to oily skin. Next test is to see if it works well with layering SPF and makeup.

I purchased this for several years, but I'm taking a break. The Skinceuticals CE has a lot of research behind it, a lot of dermatologist recommendations, and is definitely worth considering. However, there are a number of reasons I've decided to look into other options. 1) the bottle! For a product that is this expensive, I do not understand why it continues to be packaged this way. I am always very careful, yet I've still knocked the bottle over multiple times. 2) the staining! I know the company says that product is still effective even as it darkens over time, however, as it darkens it starts to stain. The color comes off on my clothes, my robe, even when I wash my face at night.

I have used CE Ferulic every day for 2 years. My skin has become so clear and glowing. I highly recommend it. If you buy this product, you must wear sunscreen after applying it! This Vitamin C is very strong and potent. I'm not gonna lie though, it does smell like hotdog water. The smell does not linger or last long at all. It immediately disappears after it is fully absorbed into the skin. This serum absorbs quickly! I wouldn't really consider this a serum as it has a very watery consistency. Not sticky, not tacky, just a "wet" feeling. This provides a nice glow and "fresh skin" look. The price is a little hefty compared to others on the market, but I justify that by its shelf life.

First it was great, then it wasnt. Used one day after I bought it, my skin looked amazing! I was so surprised and super happy with my purchase. But the second day of use, I layered it under makeup, used the 4-5 drops total on my face, neck, chest. After I cleansed my face, neck, and chest last night, I noticed I had hives on my chest, and weird tiny little dots of acne, dryness, redness, and irritation. I figured it may have been my moisturizer, which is snail mucin, so I didnt use it this morning, and I used a different moisturizer. I used the Vitamin C E Ferulic as directed again, and fast forward two hours later, my skin is inflamed, irritated, and red. I dont have any issues with Skinceuticals as a brand, Im sure that theyre amazing, but Im not sure whether my skin is just THAT sensitive, or if my skin just reacts badly to certain ingredients.

First time using the product. I used it twice daily on fine wrinkles on my forehead, between brows, corners of my nose, and corners of my lips. The first thing I noticed was a strong, unpleasing herbal scent my family could smell on me. The scent lingers through other moisturizers, makeup, and even under perfume. Would prefer no scent at all from the product. Overall, almost unnoticeable benefit for tolerating the unpleasant scent.

I really like this product and use it most mornings. I have even gotten my husband to start using it. I am 46 and have had acne, including cystic acne, since about age 12 and have scarring from the acne. I had very oily skin until a few years ago, and now my skin has become more textured and dry. I got this sample not knowing the liquid gold being given to me! I lost weight, was feeling good about that but not about the saggy skin under my chin. I dont want to be thinner and saggy and this worked so good. I thought there is no way I would ever buy this at full price, nothing can be worth this but I was wrong. I will admit the smell isnt my fave BUT that is the tiniest price to pay for the effectiveness of this product, and it doesnt last, it goes away. My skin elasticity has improved, it didnt cause any breakouts, I genuinely look younger. Even my mom made a comment about it and she: A) didnt know I had been using a new product B) will take every opportunity to tell me if I look good or if theres something I can do that might be more flattering aka she doesnt usually give compliments lightly.

Just Okay Ive been using this every day now for several weeks and I am disappointed to say I dont love the results. Theres some good and bad to this product for me. Likes - I appreciate that the antioxidants are likely helping my skin in ways that cant be seen directly or right away necessarily. I know theyre helping to provide extra protection, which I love. I also love that it only takes 4-5 drops to cover your whole face, meaning this product should last a pretty decent time. Dislikes - The smell. Im pretty used to it after a few weeks, but it is really strong and unpleasant. The first few days it was so strong and lingered for so long! Secondly, this product makes my face way too shiny, and not in a good way. Ive tried using less but its still noticeable. It diminishes after some time, but still not great.

After trying another vitamin C, I was looking for an upgrade that would provide noticeable results. This product delivered, but the price is quite hefty. Initially, my skin was a bit sensitive and dried out as it was adjusting to the product, but after daily use for a couple of months, I am cruising. This product helps with my acne marks (although I do not have acne regularly) and seems to be evening out my skin. It also makes my skin a bit more sensitive, so it motivates me to use sunscreen in the morning, which is a plus. Because of the price, I am tempted to try another brand to see if I can find comparable results, but I am still likely to repurchase.

I've been wanting to try this product for a long time and purchased it during a sale. I went back and forth between this and the Silymarin CF because I'm prone to breakouts, but I decided on this. It's made improvements to my skin's tone and actually cleared my acne. My only criticism is the bottle/dropper packaging. I wish the product was better sealed to prevent oxidation and easier to dispense. Worth it!

CE Ferulic is a beautiful serum. Amongst other ascorbic acid serums, CE Ferulic is pleasant to use, despite also having a hot dog water smell (standard for ascorbic acid), it is subtle and bearable compared to other products. CE Ferulic is also very moisturizing on my skin. It is even okay to use on its own without moisturizer sometimes. CE Ferulic gives my skin great luminosity and radiance. However, it does not have an impact on pigmentation. I see CE Ferulic as more of a maintenance serum rather than a life-changing serum.

Amazing!!! Please dont underestimate my words, I am the one who is coming with the long-standing and stubborn hyperpigmentation history and what I experienced with Skinceuticals Vit C. I have tried all kinds of creams, treatments for melasma whichever were possible (except for laser) but instead of any improvement of my hyperpigmentation, it kept on worsening. Unfortunately nothing was working for me. I am glad I listened to the recommendation from some of the derms I follow and bought this expensive Vit C serum. Please note its worth every cent because you will see difference every day. The strange thing happened with me that I thought to give 2-3 weeks to this serum as always and expected to see a difference after few days, however when I saw my face the very next day I was amazed at the immediate improvement.

Hi I'm 37yo, F, Asian and with brown skin. I have been using this product for over a year now as part of my routine. I love that this product made my face brighten and even out texture (about 80%) of my face without going through invasive treatment. I am not prone to acne so I can't really say anything about breakouts or if this could cause breakouts. When I apply this product, its not greasy at all. Its very light and it tingles a little but it quickly goes away. My goal is to have a clean, bright and a normal glow for my skin color and this product delivers that. Its expensive but it lasts me for 3-4 months. I only use 3 drops: forehead and both cheeks. I only use this during the day and have other products during the night. I highly recommend this.

I've been a long-time user of C E Ferulic after skin cancer surgery, and I use it religiously! I barely have any signs of sun damage now, and I get compliments on my skin all the time. SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum I have been using this for a while. I was not consistent because at first it made my skin itchy and dry. I realized my skin is very sensitive and adjusted how much and how often. Sometimes what the directions say isnt what is best for all of us. The key here that I learned is find what works for you and your skin type. What worked for me was to ease into this over the course of about a month. Now I have found the amount and frequency that works for me, which isnt what the directions state. I use it once a day, 2 drops mixed with a daily moisturizer from a cheaper brand. I believe it helps my sensitive skin handle it better. And even though Im not using it as directed I can honestly say Im still getting the benefits that it states I should. Hope this helps anyone that may be experiencing similar issues.

It's brilliant! I have been using for just over a week and I already noticed improvements in my skin. It is expensive; however, it's the best vitamin C serum there is, I believe. As long as it is used just once a day in the morning, and with 3-5 drops, it should last a while. Just remember to store in a cool, dark place and replace the cap immediately!

The softest my skin has been! It took a little less than a week to notice a big difference in my skin! By the second week, my skin was visibly softer and the texture felt so smooth! I noticed this most in my forehead. I kept touching my face because I was so surprised at how much softer and smoother it felt! One of the best vitamin Cs on the market for a reason! I love that they have different blends as well for different skin types. Absorbs nicely into the skin. The scent is not the best but it dissipates quickly once applied. I have seen tremendous results on myself and my clients using this product. I took off one star because I am disappointed it does not come in an airtight container to keep the vitamin C stable for longer. But again, I have consistently seen results regardless so it is still a great product!

I've heard lots about this product, and I'm a big believer in the power of topical Vitamin C and E. It also contains Ferulic Acid, a great antioxidant that helps to rebuild collagen and replenish lipids. I'll admit it is a very basic formulation, but the packaging does a good job protecting the Vitamin C.

I have been struggling with acne and dark spots (from acne) for 2 whole years. I tried countless products and didn't see any results to help with hyperpigmentation from my acne. This is the only one that worked for me. It helped brighten my skin as well as my acne spots. My skin looks so much better. I will never use anything else.

I have been using this serum for quite some time and it never lets me down. I alternate this with Phloretin CF and get great results from both products. My skin is much more clear, bright, and smooth. This line is a bit pricey, but all worth it in the long run.

Its been a while (2yrs) since Ive used Vitamin C so, within two weeks of use, there have been notable changes in the appearance and texture of my skin. Ive suffered hormonal acne for the past 7 years and as time continues to pass, Ive grown worried of scarring and fine lines. I hadnt realized I had hyperpigmentation spots until my complexion became clear and even. Additionally, my face feels a bit more plump making fine lines disappear. If its something you can budget for, Id recommend saving until you feel comfortable with the purchase. Daytime routine: gentle wash, snail mucin essence, vitamin C (4 drops: forehead, left and right cheeks, and neck), followed by moisturizer and sunscreen.

Laureth-23 makes this not so great for my aging, acne prone skin I really, really wanted to love this product, but simply could not deal with the clogged pores and breakouts it caused. I know this is considered the "gold standard", and Im happy this works for so many people. Sadly, I am not one of them. Ive used 3 bottles of CE over the years, always hoping my skin will "adjust", but it never did. Ive since read enough reviews and customers feedback to understand this is not the appropriate formula for my aging, acne-prone skin. A lot of people attribute the vitamin E in this product to what causes breakouts, but its actually the Laureth 23. I had the same issue with another product; it totally clogged my pores. If you use a resource like a product ingredient checker on acne clinic or something along those lines, Laureth 23 is a big no-no for my skin type.

Absolutely loved this product! It lasts all day and makes my skin feel so good. It really helps out the skin, leaving my face glowing and radiant. This is a serum with a light liquid texture and light yellow color. It is absorbed evenly, and after 10-15 minutes, the sticky feeling disappears. I have used this product for a long time, and no new products have surpassed Skinceuticals CE Ferulic in terms of effectiveness.

Love this product and have used it for years. .it gives my skin a healthy glow and really does help with fine lines. A few drops are all that are needed and the bottle lasts. I believe this is one product that you’ll wish you had sooner.
