How to Use

Step 1: Cleanse and tone your skin (in the Nu-Derm Fx System, Nu-Derm Gentle Cleanser or Foaming Gel, then Nu-Derm Toner).
Step 2: Apply a thin, even layer of Clear Fx to the face, avoiding the eye area.
Step 3: Use twice a day, once in your morning routine and again at night.
Step 4: In the morning, follow with Exfoderm and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. At night, follow with Blend Fx. Moisturize as needed.

Caution: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Sunburn alert: this product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward. Store at 59–86°F (15–30°C), out of direct sunlight.

Does Clear Fx contain hydroquinone?

No. Clear Fx is Obagi's hydroquinone-free brightening cream, built on arbutin, and it does not require a prescription. It is a different product from Obagi's prescription Nu-Derm Clear, which contains hydroquinone, so don't use them interchangeably without talking to your provider.

How is Clear Fx different from Blend Fx?

Both are hydroquinone-free arbutin creams from the Nu-Derm Fx System. Clear Fx is the correcting step, used morning and night. Blend Fx is used once a day in the evening and adds an exfoliant to help clarify and blend tone. Obagi's system uses both.

Where does it go in my routine?

Apply it after cleansing and toning, morning and night. In the Nu-Derm Fx System, follow it in the morning with Exfoderm and a broad-spectrum sunscreen, and at night with Blend Fx. Add a moisturizer such as Obagi Hydrate as needed.

How soon will I see results?

Brightening is gradual. Obagi doesn't publish a results timeline for Clear Fx, so give it at least two to three months of consistent twice-daily use, with sunscreen every day, before judging how much your tone has evened out.

Is it okay for sensitive skin or during pregnancy?

Clear Fx is free of hydroquinone and retinoids, but it does contain an AHA (lactic acid) and parabens. If you're pregnant, nursing or have very reactive skin, check with your provider before starting, and stop use if irritation develops.
