How to Use

Step 1: Apply a dime-sized amount to a wet face.
Step 2: Massage gently into a light foaming lather, avoiding the eye area.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
Step 4: Use twice daily, morning and night. Because excessive drying may occur, start with one application daily, then gradually increase to two times daily if needed or as directed by a doctor.
Step 5: Follow with your treatment, moisturizer and, in the morning, a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Caution: For external use only. When using this product, skin irritation and dryness are more likely if you use another topical acne medication at the same time; if irritation occurs, use only one topical acne medication at a time. Avoid contact with the eyes; if contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water. Stop use and ask a doctor if skin irritation occurs or gets worse. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Protect from excessive heat and direct sun.

How is this different from PCA Skin Acne Gel?

Both use salicylic acid to treat acne. The Prebiotic Gel Cleanser is a rinse-off wash, the first step of your routine, with azelaic acid, niacinamide and Triple Biotic Technology for balance. Acne Gel is a leave-on treatment applied after cleansing. They can be used together, but combining topical acne medications makes dryness and irritation more likely, so add one at a time and cut back if skin gets irritated.

Will it dry out my skin?

It's formulated to cleanse without stripping, and PCA Skin reports a 19% improvement in hydration in its clinical testing. Salicylic acid can still be drying, especially with other acne treatments, so the label recommends starting once a day and working up to twice daily. Follow with a lightweight moisturizer made for oily or acne-prone skin.

How soon will I see results?
