How is this different from PCA Skin Nutrient Toner?

Hydrating Toner is the moisture-focused option: fruit extracts, glycerin, panthenol and sodium PCA hydrate and soften, and a red seaweed extract adds antioxidant protection. It contains no exfoliating acids. Nutrient Toner is the exfoliating option, with pumpkin enzymes and lactic acid to refine the look of pores. Dry and sensitive skin usually do best with Hydrating Toner.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

PCA Skin designed it for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin. It has no alcohol, no exfoliating acids and no added fragrance. It does contain rosemary leaf oil, an essential oil, so if essential oils have irritated you before, patch test along the jawline for a few days first.

Do I really need a toner?

Not strictly, but this one earns its place. It lifts leftover cleanser, oil and debris, adds a first layer of hydration and antioxidant protection, and leaves skin damp and receptive so the serums that follow spread easily.

Where does it go in my routine?

After cleansing and before serums, morning and night. Sweep a moistened cotton pad over the face and neck, then follow with your treatment serums, a broad-spectrum sunscreen in the morning and moisturizer at night.

Can I use it with retinol or exfoliating acids?

Yes. With no acids of its own, it layers comfortably under retinol, vitamin C and exfoliating treatments and can help skin feel more comfortable on active nights. After in-office procedures, follow your provider's instructions on when to restart topical products.
