How to Use

Step 1: Cleanse with a SkinCeuticals cleanser.
Step 2: Pour a small amount of toner onto a cotton ball or pad.
Step 3: Gently smooth over the face, neck and chest, avoiding the eye area.
Step 4: In the morning, follow with a vitamin C serum and a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Step 5: In the evening, follow with a corrective serum or moisturizer.
Step 6: Use twice daily.

Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse with water. Do not apply to broken or irritated skin. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Contains citrus oil; patch-test if you have sensitive skin. Exfoliation can increase sun sensitivity, so use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily.

How is Equalizing Toner different from LHA Toner?

LHA Toner is built for oily, breakout-prone skin, with LHA, salicylic acid and glycolic acid to clear pores and control oil. Equalizing Toner is the gentler option: an alcohol-free blend of fruit acids and calming botanicals that exfoliates lightly and helps balance the skin, which suits dry, normal, combination and sensitive skin. Choose the one that matches your skin rather than using both.

Is it OK for sensitive skin?

SkinCeuticals recommends it for sensitive and sensitized skin, and it is alcohol- and dye-free. It does contain orange peel oil and limonene, which some very reactive skin doesn't tolerate, so patch-test on the jawline for a few days first. Skip it on broken, sunburned or freshly treated skin, and stop if you notice redness or stinging that doesn't settle.

Where does it go in my routine?

Right after cleansing, morning and evening. In the morning, follow with a vitamin C serum such as C E Ferulic and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. In the evening, follow with your treatment serum or retinol and a moisturizer. It's the step that gets skin clean and balanced before everything else.

Will it dry out my skin?

It shouldn't. The formula has no drying alcohol and includes aloe and glycerin, and SkinCeuticals designed it with dry and dehydrated skin in mind. It is a toner, not a moisturizer, though, so dry skin still needs a hydrating serum or cream afterward.

Can I use it with retinol or other exfoliants?

Yes, most people can. The fruit acids are mild, so it usually sits comfortably in a routine with retinol. If your skin starts to feel tight or irritated, use the toner in the morning only and keep retinol at night. Pause it for a few days around in-office peels, laser or microneedling unless your provider tells you otherwise.

How long does a bottle last?
