How to Use

Step 1: Cleanse with a SkinCeuticals cleanser such as LHA Cleanser Gel or Purifying Cleanser, and pat dry.
Step 2: Pour a small amount of toner onto a cotton ball or pad.
Step 3: Smooth over the face, neck and chest, avoiding the eye area. Do not rinse.
Step 4: In the morning, follow with a vitamin C serum, moisturizer and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. In the evening, follow with a corrective product or moisturizer.
Step 5: Use twice daily; start once daily if you are new to exfoliating acids.

Caution: For external use only. Avoid the eye area and irritated or broken skin. Contains alcohol and exfoliating acids that may cause dryness or tingling; discontinue use if irritation occurs. Not recommended for dry skin or for use with retinol. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase sensitivity to the sun: use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward.

How is LHA different from salicylic acid?

LHA (capryloyl salicylic acid) is a salicylic acid derivative with a larger, more oil-loving molecule. SkinCeuticals explains that it works more slowly and superficially, exfoliating evenly at the surface, which suits oily skin. LHA Toner combines LHA with salicylic acid and glycolic acid for a fuller exfoliating effect.

Can I use it with retinol?

SkinCeuticals doesn't recommend using it with retinol because the combination can cause dryness and irritation. If retinol is part of your routine, talk with us about alternating nights or reserving the toner for mornings.

Is it right for dry or sensitive skin?

No. It's formulated for oily, combination and breakout-prone skin, and the alcohol-based, low-pH formula can be drying. SkinCeuticals doesn't recommend it for dry skin; Equalizing Toner is a gentler, hydrating alternative.

Is it an acne treatment?

LHA Toner is a cosmetic exfoliating toner rather than an over-the-counter acne medication. It helps unclog pores and remove excess oil for clearer-looking skin, and it pairs well with targeted treatments such as Blemish + Age Defense. Persistent or cystic acne deserves a visit with a provider.

Do I need a moisturizer afterward?

Yes. SkinCeuticals recommends following with a moisturizer because the toner can dry the skin. In the morning, apply vitamin C serum, a lightweight moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen; at night, follow with your corrective serum and moisturizer.

How long does a bottle last?
