How to Use

Step 1: Wet the face and neck with warm water.
Step 2: Dispense one pump of foam and gently massage it onto the face and neck using light circular motions.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.
Step 4: In the morning, follow with a vitamin C serum and sunscreen. In the evening, follow with a corrective product or moisturizer.
Step 5: Use twice daily, morning and night.

Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. After an in-office procedure, follow your provider's instructions. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

How is this different from SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser?

Both are made for sensitive skin. Gentle Cleanser is a creamy cleanser best suited to dry skin, while Soothing Cleanser is a soap-free foam that suits every skin type, including oily and combination, and is tested for use after in-office procedures. If you prefer a foam but your skin is reactive, choose Soothing Cleanser.

Can I use it after a peel, laser or microneedling?

Yes. SkinCeuticals tested it post-procedure and recommends it alongside chemical peels, IPL, non-ablative laser, microdermabrasion, microneedling and injectables. Always follow your provider's post-treatment instructions on when to restart cleansing and other products.

Does it remove makeup?

Yes, it removes long-wear face makeup. Massage the foam over dry or damp skin for a few extra seconds before rinsing, and use a dedicated eye makeup remover for heavy waterproof mascara.

Can I use it with retinol or vitamin C?

Yes. In the morning, cleanse before your vitamin C serum and sunscreen. At night, cleanse before your retinol or other corrective product and moisturizer. Because it contains no exfoliating acids, it won't add to the dryness retinol can cause.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

SkinCeuticals says it can be used while pregnant or breastfeeding, but recommends checking with your physician before adding any new product to your routine.
