How to Use

Step 1: Apply liberally to the face, body and all exposed skin 15 minutes before sun exposure.
Step 2: Massage in until absorbed. Use it in place of your morning body lotion.
Step 3: Reapply at least every 2 hours.
Step 4: Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.
Step 5: Children under 6 months: ask a doctor.

Caution: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. When using this product keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. If product is swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Keep out of reach of children.

Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad-spectrum SPF of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; wear long-sleeve shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses.

Other information: Protect this product from excessive heat and direct sun.

How is UV Lotion different from UV Sport and UV Sheer?

UV Lotion is a moisturizing, everyday SPF 35 for face and body, but it isn't water-resistant. UV Sport (SPF 50) and UV Sheer (SPF 50+) are both water-resistant for 80 minutes, so they're the better picks for swimming, sports and heavy sweating. Many clients wear UV Lotion day to day and keep a water-resistant formula in the beach bag.

Can I use it on my face?

Yes. The 3 oz tube is labeled as a face and body sunscreen, and the formula is non-comedogenic. It's a richer, moisturizing texture, though, so oily or breakout-prone skin may prefer a lighter facial SPF such as EltaMD UV Clear.

Can it replace my body lotion?

In the morning, for most people, yes. The moisturizing base with hyaluronic acid hydrates like a body lotion while it protects. If your skin is very dry, add a richer body cream at night, such as EltaMD Skin Restore Body Cream.

Is UV Lotion a mineral sunscreen?

No. It combines zinc oxide, a mineral filter, with octinoxate, a chemical filter. If you prefer mineral-only protection, EltaMD UV Pure is 100% mineral.

How often should I reapply?

Reapply at least every 2 hours, per the Drug Facts label. Because UV Lotion isn't water-resistant, switch to a water-resistant sunscreen when swimming or sweating, and reapply after towel drying.

Which size should I choose?

The 8 oz tube is the everyday size for full-body use at home. Full-body coverage takes about 1 oz per application, so it goes faster than you might expect, which is normal. The 3 oz tube is handy for a gym bag, car or carry-on and for touch-ups on the face, neck, arms and hands.
