How is this different from Pigment Gel HQ Free?

Vitamin B3 Brightening Serum is an all-over brightening serum led by 6% niacinamide, so along with evening tone it strengthens the barrier and helps calm the look of redness and yellowing. Pigment Gel HQ Free is a targeted spot treatment with lactic, kojic and azelaic acids plus phenylethyl resorcinol for stubborn discoloration. Many clients use the B3 serum all over and the gel on specific spots.

Can I use it with vitamin C or retinol?

Yes. Niacinamide works well alongside most actives. PCA Skin recommends applying it after cleansing, toning and any other PCA Skin treatment serums, so it layers after vitamin C in the morning or a retinol at night. If your skin is sensitive, introduce one new active at a time.

Is it good for sensitive or redness-prone skin?

For many people, yes. It's fragrance-free and hydroquinone-free, and PCA Skin formulated the niacinamide to improve barrier function and visibly reduce redness. A small number of people notice temporary warmth or flushing with niacinamide; if that happens, use it once a day until your skin adjusts.
