How to Use

Step 1: Use as the last step of your morning skincare routine.
Step 2: Twist the compact and pull up on the lid to open. Remove the sponge and lift the tray to reveal the product.
Step 3: Using gentle pressure, apply and blend over the face, neck and décolleté so the entire surface is covered. Add layers for more coverage.
Step 4: Apply liberally and evenly 15 minutes before sun exposure.
Step 5: Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every 2 hours.
Step 6: To store, flip the tray and place the sponge on top, then close the lid and twist for an airtight seal. Keep away from high heat.

Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses. Children under 6 months: Ask a doctor.

How is this different from the sunbetter TONE SMART SPF 68 Compact?

Both are 12 g mineral compacts with 10% zinc oxide. SHEER SPF 56 is untinted and transparent, with 5% titanium dioxide and a PA+++ rating. TONE SMART SPF 68 adds a hint of tone-adapting color, uses 8.4% titanium dioxide and carries PA++++. Choose SHEER if you want sun protection without any color, for example over your own foundation or if tinted sunscreens never match your skin.

Can I wear it over makeup?

Yes, that is what it does best. Because it has no tint, you can press it over foundation or concealer to refresh your protection without changing your shade. It also works on bare skin as the last step of your morning routine, where its priming finish helps makeup sit smoothly.

How do I get the full SPF 56 protection from a compact?

Apply liberally about 15 minutes before sun exposure, using the sponge to press and blend product over the face, neck and décolleté until the whole surface is covered, then add more layers. A single light swipe will not reach the labeled SPF. Many clients use a lotion sunscreen in the morning and keep the compact for touch-ups.

How often should I reapply?

At least every 2 hours, after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, and immediately after towel drying. The compact is designed to make those touch-ups easy wherever you are.

Is it a good choice for oily or sensitive skin?

It uses mineral filters only and is formulated without fragrance, parabens and dyes, and its silky, mattifying finish tends to suit oily and combination skin. If your skin is very reactive, patch test first, and stop use and ask a doctor if a rash occurs.

My compact feels softer than usual. Is it still effective?

Heat can soften the formula, which makes application less elegant but not less effective. Store it with the tray flipped and the sponge on top, twist the lid closed for an airtight seal, and avoid leaving it in hot places like a car.
