How to Use

Step 1: Wet the face and neck with warm water.
Step 2: Massage a small amount of cleansing gel onto the face and neck in light circular motions, avoiding the eye area.
Step 3: Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.
Step 4: In the morning, follow with a SkinCeuticals vitamin C serum and a broad-spectrum sunscreen. In the evening, follow with a corrective product or moisturizer.
Step 5: Use twice daily, morning and night.

Caution: For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase sensitivity to the sun: use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterward.

How is this different from Glycolic Renewal Cleanser?

Purifying Cleanser is the gentler, everyday option: about 3% combined glycolic acid and glycerin in a fragrance-free, sulfate-free gel that suits dry skin too. Glycolic Renewal Cleanser is stronger, with an 8% glycolic acid free acid value plus phytic acid, aimed at dullness and rough texture in normal, oily and combination skin, and SkinCeuticals doesn't recommend it for sensitive skin.

Is it suitable for oily or acne-prone skin?

Yes. SkinCeuticals recommends it for oily and acne-prone skin, and regular exfoliation helps keep pores from clogging. If breakouts are your main concern, ask us about pairing it with LHA Toner or Blemish + Age Defense.

Will it dry out my skin?

It's designed not to. Glycerin hydrates as you cleanse, and the mild, sulfate-free, soap-free surfactants rinse clean without stripping. SkinCeuticals recommends it for dry and dehydrated skin as well as oily skin.

Can I use it with vitamin C or retinol?

Yes. Cleanse first, then apply your vitamin C serum in the morning. At night it pairs well with retinol or other corrective products; if you're new to retinol, build up slowly and watch for dryness. Glycolic acid and retinol both increase sun sensitivity, so wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily.

Can I use it every day?
