How to Use

Step 1: Shake well.
Step 2: In the morning after cleansing, toning, treatments and moisturizer, apply liberally to the entire face (and neck and chest if desired) 15 minutes before sun exposure.
Step 3: Reapply at least every 2 hours.
Step 4: Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.

Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a broad spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats and sunglasses. Children under 6 months: ask a doctor.

Caution: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. When using this product, keep out of eyes; rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Protect the product from excessive heat and direct sun; store at room temperature.

How is it different from Mineral Shield SPF 32 Tinted?

Both are 100% mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. SPF 35 is untinted with a sheer finish. The SPF 32 Tinted version adds a light tint that SkinMedica recommends for all skin types, including deeper skin tones.

Can I use it after a laser treatment, peel or microneedling?

SkinMedica formulated it for sensitive and post-procedure skin types. The Drug Facts label says not to use it on damaged or broken skin, so wait until your skin has closed and your provider has cleared you, then apply it every morning.

Is it water-resistant?

No. Reapply at least every 2 hours, and use a water-resistant sunscreen if you'll be swimming or sweating.

Will it leave a white cast?

It is designed to go on sheer for a mineral sunscreen. Shake well and smooth it on in thin layers. On deeper skin tones it can look slightly light until fully blended; if that bothers you, the tinted Mineral Shield SPF 32 is a good alternative.

Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes. It's lightweight, oil-free and non-comedogenic. Apply it as the last step of your morning skincare, give it a minute to set, then apply makeup.

How long does a tube last?

Applied liberally to the face every morning, a 1.85 oz / 52.5 g tube typically lasts about six to eight weeks. It goes faster if you also cover your neck and chest or reapply through the day, which you should when outdoors.
