Capryloyl salicylic acid is salicylic acid with a fatty chain attached, which is where the shorthand LHA comes from. That extra chain makes the molecule larger and more oil-loving, so it works closer to the skin's surface and at a gentler pace than plain BHA. Leave-on products intended for daily use are where it does best.
