The plant-derived alternative to propylene glycol
Propanediol does three jobs at once. It holds water at the skin's surface, it dissolves ingredients that would otherwise sit undissolved, and it thins a formula just enough to glide. Because it is fermented from corn sugar rather than refined from petroleum, brands reformulating away from propylene glycol tend to reach for it first.
