Where Ceramide NP does most of the moisture-holding work, AP is the alpha-hydroxylated form that contributes to how tightly the lipid layers pack together. You will rarely see it listed on its own — its presence usually signals a formula built to a physiological ceramide ratio rather than a single showcase ingredient.
