How Tinted Formulas Get Their Shade
Color in skincare is rarely decorative alone. Iron oxides, mica, titanium dioxide, and silica do the work of matching a tint to real skin, controlling how much light a finish reflects, and keeping a formula from looking chalky or flat once it settles.

Are mineral colorants safe for sensitive skin?
Iron oxides and titanium dioxide are among the better-tolerated pigments available and are standard in formulas aimed at reactive skin. As always, the full formula matters more than any single line on the label — fragrance and preservatives are the more common triggers.
