How to Use

Step 1: Finish your morning skincare: cleanse, treat and moisturize.
Step 2: Apply liberally to the face and neck 15 minutes before sun exposure, blending outward until the tint looks even.
Step 3: Wear alone or under makeup.
Step 4: Reapply at least every 2 hours. Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating.
Step 5: Children under 6 months: ask a doctor.

Caution: For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. When using this product keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.

Other information: Store at 15–25°C (59–77°F). Protect this product from excessive heat and direct sun.

Should I choose Cool or Warm?

Cool is made for skin with pink or beige undertones, and Warm for golden or olive undertones. If silver jewelry flatters you, you tend to flush pink, or the veins on your wrist look bluish, Cool is usually the better match. Both tints are sheer, so they blend over a range of tones; test a little along the jawline if you’re unsure.

Is it a mineral or a chemical sunscreen?

Both. It combines mineral filters (zinc oxide 5% and titanium dioxide 3.18%) with chemical filters (homosalate 10% and octinoxate 7.5%). If you prefer an all-mineral formula, for example right after a procedure or for very reactive skin, ask us about Obagi Sun Shield Mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 50+.

Is it water resistant?

No. The label does not claim water resistance. Reapply at least every 2 hours, and use a water-resistant sunscreen if you’ll be swimming or sweating.

Will it cover redness?

It softens the look of mild redness and evens out tone, but it’s a sheer tint, not a full-coverage foundation. Wear it alone for a natural finish or under makeup if you want more coverage. For persistent redness or rosacea, talk with your provider about treatment options.

Where does it fit in my routine?

It’s the last skincare step every morning: cleanse (Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel suits normal to oily skin), apply a vitamin C serum such as Obagi Professional-C Serum 20%, moisturize with a light layer like Obagi Hydrate Light Gel Cream, then finish with Sun Shield Tint.

How long does a tube last?

Applied generously to the face and neck once a day, a 3 oz tube lasts roughly one to two months. Reapplying through the day, or covering the chest and hands too, uses it faster.
