How to Use

Step 5: Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning.

How is this different from the RetaXome Retinal Boost Treatment Pads?

Both use Hydrinity's exosome-encapsulated retinal. The Daily Retinal Hydrator is a leave-on nightly treatment built around hydration and barrier support. The Treatment Pads are at-home peel pads that pair that retinal with a blend of five exfoliating acids and are used every three days. Hydrinity designed the pads to work with the Hydrator, but together they add more retinal to your routine, so introduce the pads gradually and ask your provider how to alternate them.

Can I use it if retinol has irritated my skin before?

That's who it's designed for. In Hydrinity's study, 100% of patients who previously couldn't tolerate retinoids were able to use RetaXome, based on two-week observations, and Hydrinity designed it for nightly use from day one with no acclimation period. If your skin is very reactive, starting every other night for the first week is a reasonable cautious approach. Apply it to completely dry skin, since damp skin can increase sensitivity.

How soon will I see results?

Hydrinity reports a 44% increase in skin hydration from baseline after two weeks, and some users notice visible changes in that time. Improvements in texture, visible redness and the appearance of fine lines were measured after 12 weeks of consistent nightly use, so give it about three months before judging. Individual results vary.

Is it safe during pregnancy or around treatments?

As with any retinoid, skip it if you're pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding unless your physician approves. Pause it for several days before waxing, chemical peels, laser or microneedling, and follow your provider's instructions on when to restart. If you have rosacea or eczema, check with your provider before starting.

Where does it go in my routine?

Evenings only. Cleanse (Hydrinity recommends PRELUDE Facial Treatment Cleanser), let skin dry completely, apply any hydrating mist or serum, then apply RetaXome to the face and neck. Add a night cream on top if you want extra moisture. Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every morning, and avoid layering other retinoids or strong exfoliating acids on the same night unless your provider directs it.
